About Us
Tucked into the green folds of the Hawkesbury region in NSW, Chestnut Eggs began as a simple family dream. We're a small, family-owned farm, and every morning out here feels like a gift. Caring for our land and our hens is at the heart of who we are. We pour our days into ethical farming, guided by a deep love for doing things properly.
Hen Welfare Comes First
Our hens come first, always. We keep only 100 hens per hectare, giving each one generous room to stretch, wander, and simply be a hen. That gentle space matters to us. Watching them settle into a calm, contented rhythm reminds us daily why we farm the way we do.
Farming the Way Nature Intended
Genuine free-range living means our hens spend their days foraging through grass, dust bathing in the sun, and roaming across open pasture. We keep roosters with the flock, too, helping them feel at ease in a natural, balanced environment. Nature sets the pace here, and we follow it.
Fresh Eggs You’ll Love
We believe that the way food is grown matters just as much as the food itself. Every decision we make,
from the space we give our hens to the presence of roosters in the flock, comes back to one simple conviction:
when animals are cared for with genuine respect, everything that follows is better.
It's a belief that shapes our days, guides our choices, and shows up in every egg that leaves our farm.
